Meet Sasha Squires, the executive director for MAERA (Montana Awareness, Education and Equine Rehabilitation Association). She likes to wear bits of leather and bow hunt on horseback. Also a survival skills instructor. Also one of the nicest people I've ever photographed.
This series came from a cover and supporting material for a feature Mountain Outlaw magazine ran on Sasha in 2013. I've wanted to show more from our time together, and, finding myself compelled to convert a series of images into B+W, I pulled this selection together. The first image, along with one or two others in my online portfolio (jakecampos.com) shows my color processing, but the moods that come across in these non-retouched, monochrome outtakes really resonate with me.
